Milledgeville, GA – A new spotlight is shining in the heart of Georgia. On August 1, 2025, the Milledgeville Theatre Collective (MTC) officially launches as the region’s newest performing arts organization, dedicated to cultivating bold, collaborative, and inclusive theatrical experiences for performers, partners, and patrons alike.
Founded by a team of passionate educators, performers, and community leaders, MTC is built on the belief that high-quality theater thrives when professionalism and community go hand in hand.
“We are creating a space where collaboration is not just encouraged—it’s essential,” said President, Rebecca Brasher. “Every project we produce will reflect the care, intention, and artistry of the people who shape it.”
MTC will operate as a nonprofit collaborative with a seasonal mix of mainstage productions, youth programming, and pop-up performance events designed to meet audiences where they are—in theaters, churches, parks, and beyond.
Key pillars of the organization include:
Community-driven programming that reflects diverse voices and stories
Education and mentorship for performers, directors, and tech artists of all ages
Strategic partnerships with local businesses and other local nonprofits
MTC will unveil its inaugural season lineup this semester, beginning with Father of the Bride (October 2-4, 2025)—a mainstage production in partnership with the beautiful new local wedding venue, Woodland Acres at Robbins Farm. Future programming includes a holiday partnership with New City Church at The Mill for ’Twas the Night Before Christmas (December 11-12, 2025)—a theatre for young audiences production that kids from one to ninety-two will love.
Brasher added, “We’re building a culture of artistic integrity and mutual respect. Whether you’re a veteran performer, a student, or someone who’s never set foot on stage, you’ll find a place here.”
The Milledgeville Theatre Collective invites community members to join in as performers, volunteers, donors, and dreamers. Those interested can visit www.milledgevilletheatre.org or follow @millytheatrecollective on social media for updates, auditions, and events.
